It really annoys me when people drive with only the running lights on at night!

That's annoying as shit. They are just for appearance at night. Not for visibility.
I'm a Douche and drive with my fogs on though, but always headlights at night.

What's really weird is that a lot of them have automatic headlights so they have to intentionally turn the lights off.

Do you do headlights and fog lights together at night?

I was thinking that too! Maybe they turn the automatic headlights off...

Occasionally, I've got Xenons. But I prefer to use fogs during the day, as they aren't that powerful.

My 2000 car has automatic headlights, why isn't this standard on newer cars? My mom's PT Cruiser 2005 and my dad's Passat TDI 2005 both have manual headlights and I don't understand why.

Well, yours was a Buick, so it was "luxury"! The PT and the Passat are normal cars...

Our Leaf has all LED headlights and fog lights. The headlights must be on for the fog lights to come on. So, the fog lights are always on with the headlights at night. Is that bad?

Probably not. With me, my lights are automatic to come on or off. I'm pretty sure that I can just stick the fogs on without the others. But I'm not certain.

My dad's 2004 Silverado has them, and it's only one step up from a work truck. Shit, I think work trucks had them. The Vue def. has them. I see $50,000+ cars without them on the all time and I just want to hit the driver.

Yeah, the Leaf has auto headlights too. You can turn off the fogs, but you can't turn them on independent of the headlights.

I guess that's fair. I also have an auto-dimming rearview mirror and fully automatic wipers, also absent on the other two newer cars. That's always fun to wave in front of their faces, along with my motorized seats. Aaah, bragging. Probably won't get old any time soon.

Haha, most new cars now have auto-dimming rearview mirrors now. What do you mean by fully automatic? Rain sensing?

Yep. I leave them on all the time and they only wipe when there is rain or moisture. Works surprisingly well for what I initially thought was a gimmick.

That's a nice feature. Still rare on anything short of a luxury car I think.

Until you forget to turn them off when you go through a car wash. My mom's done that before.

What, those terrifying automatic ones with the big dryers and rollers and such that sometimes destroy paint jobs? Not that I'm bitter.

She stopped using them after it literally RIPPED her rear wiper off. I'm the only person/thing that washes that car now.

Those are a no-no. My dad will never take his car(s) through those. Only hand wash or the ones that are touch-less.

In many cars, the dash lights come on automatically when it gets dark. Not the headlights or taillights, just the instrument cluster. I'll bet many morons out there don't know that their car does not have automatic headlights.
The person who thought this feature would be a good idea should get slapped in the face, by an eel .
